XSplit Broadcaster supports MP4 as its primary local recording format, configurable via the Record menu's gear icon within your active scene. It also supports file splitting by size or duration to manage large recordings. For streaming, it outputs to RTMP-based platforms (Twitch, YouTube Live, Facebook Gaming, custom RTMP servers) using H.264 or H.265 encoding, with NVIDIA NVENC AV1 support available for RTX-class GPUs. Scene transitions for local recordings or streams support video file overlays in WEBM format (with alpha transparency) for stinger transitions.
