Intelligent Tracking Prevention (ITP) is Apple's flagship privacy system in Safari that uses an on-device machine learning model to classify which domains are capable of tracking you across websites, and then restricts their ability to store cookies and other website data. ITP is enabled by default on all Apple platforms (macOS, iOS, iPadOS) and requires no user configuration. The machine learning classification happens entirely on your device — your browsing history is never sent to Apple's servers, preserving your privacy even from Apple itself. ITP now caps the lifetime of first-party cookies set via JavaScript to 7 days (or less if the domain is classified as a tracker), and blocks third-party cookies entirely by default.
