Since Google disabled public access to dislike counts in its API on December 13, 2021, RYD uses a hybrid approach. It combines a massive archive of dislike counts stored before the shutdown, real-time dislike submissions from users who have the extension installed, and statistical extrapolation based on view-to-like ratios for videos where data is scarce.
