Action! supports two primary output formats: AVI 2.0 using its proprietary FICV (Fast Intra Compression Video) codec, and MP4 using either H.264/AVC or H.265/HEVC. The AVI/FICV option is optimized for raw recording speed and ultra-low CPU overhead, but because FICV is proprietary, the resulting files may not open directly in all third-party editors — you typically need to export/convert them via Action!'s built-in export tool first. MP4 with H.264 or H.265 is broadly compatible with video editors and upload platforms. Audio is recorded as Linear PCM or AAC LC.
