ScrimbavsSkillshare

Scrimba provides interactive web development and programming courses using a proprietary screencast technology that combines video instructions with a live code editor.

Skillshare is a vibrant, community-driven online learning community focused heavily on creative education and entrepreneurship. Unlike platforms that emphasize traditional academic degrees or highly technical corporate certifications, Skillshare is built for makers, artists, and freelancers. It features thousands of classes on subjects such as illustration, graphic design, photography, video editing, creative writing, and the business strategies required to run a successful creative freelance career. The pedagogical approach of the platform is centered entirely around "project-based learning." Instead of merely passively watching long, theoretical lectures, students are encouraged to actively participate by creating a specific project alongside the instructor. Users then upload their finished work to the class gallery, where they can receive constructive feedback and encouragement from both the teacher and a highly supportive community of fellow creatives, fostering a much more engaging and collaborative online learning environment. **Pricing:** Skillshare operates on a pure subscription model and no longer offers a permanent free tier. Users must sign up for a Premium membership to access the catalog. It typically costs roughly $13.99 to $32.00 per month depending on region and promotions, but is almost always billed annually (usually around $167.88/year). A 7-day or 30-day free trial is usually offered.
